FLTK widgets on Windows XP

Hi,

I'm using trying to get started using Csound 5.08 on Windows XP, through the CsoundGUI. When I try to run some of the realtime examples by Ian McCurdy the FLTK slider panels come up but they are filled with whatever is on the screen at the time, and display no sliders. Also tried running them from command line and in this case the sliders flash up for a split second then dissappear.

I was able to get these files with fully operational slider panels working on the Mac, but only with CsoundGUI. MacCsound crashes if I tried to run them.

So is this a problem with the FLTK framework or is there a problem with Csound on Windows XP in general?

Any comments appreciated.

Thanks.

it's not work too...

Now i'm trying "HarmonicAdditiveSynthesis2.csd" written by Iain McCurdy, 2006, with the "FLTK" interface. It's not work, no matter i even has WinTclTk installed before the CSound 5.08 REinstallation...
all that - under WinXP SP3...

Use Csound 5.07 !!!

Use Csound 5.07 !!!

"Csound version 5.08 seems to have some issues with the integration of FLTK. Program exiting is a little messy under 5.08 and Steven Yi's virtual keyboard doesn't seems to work. I would recommend sticking with 5.07 for the time being."

Got it to work

I didn't think to check Ian McCurdy's specifications. Kept googling "FLTK widgets". Thanks for pointing that out.
It works, sort of. Csound 5.07 allows the widgets (and all the McCurdy realtime demos) to work on WinXP without any problems. However, using 5.07, CsoundGUI crashes every time an instrument is stopped.

I found that installing 5.09 fixes the problem: widgets work and no GUI crashes (so far).

Alesandro, thanks for help
